    The problem with controller aiming is not the sticks. The controller is aiming with thumb rather than full arm movement on a mouse. This trackball still uses the thumb for aiming.

      the controller has one fulcrum, and there are an infinite number of points in the trackball because the trackball is a ball. because of this, more accurate guidance is obtained

    Wow nice bro ive been (slowing) working on a mobile gaming setup based on an xbox controller ive been struggling with maintaining functionality whilst splitting them between two grips the idea of using a breakout box rather then just jumpering everything between two grips never occured to me ill definitely look into that option nice biuld bro

    problem with gyroball is the fact that you're only using your thumbs compared to every part of your arm/fingers/hands when using a mouse, hence why valve dropped the gyroball prototype. Add the fact that ergonomics can be quite tricky as well. It is not much of a difference from a traditional controller.

    Methodology, highly detailed steps while still maintaining a flow in the video, a project that is just awesome and turns out way better than I thought while clicking play. Damn this is rare gem I found on UA-cam today. Man this is awesome, I love engineering topics and this video has EVERYTHING. From a very defined need that some peripherals are actually not meant to play fps games in general and be portable at the same time, a detailed methodology on how to sculpt an idea with ergonomics in mind, how to make it a reality with 3D modelling, printing, wiring and painting, to a comparing sequence between your prototype and the traditional industry standard that actually put in perspective how the device perform.

    Ok hot take. What if in addition of the trackball, there was a sensor mount beneath the controller and your hands, almost glove like, to slide the controller like a mouse. Despite thinking it could get clunky, we often at a pc rest our hands on a desk anyway, maybe having a slide as well as the trackball would open up more possibility for Wide/fine precision movement. Other than that Idea, I want to see some big name people use this in a long term trial in real games to see what the actual usability may be.

    Seems like a great concept. At the end of the day..youre still using yiur thumb and it seems looks like thumb fatigue will come faster. Mouse uses the arm and wrist for snap shotting. Which makes it more accurate. Controller is only thumb use.

    It looks unusual. But in the video you can see that you need to reach for the buttons. For people with shorter fingers, this gamepad will be torture. I like the design of the XBOX gamepad, but it's thick for my hands, so I always pay attention to the thickness. DualShock is best for my hands, although DualSense looks better. Because the girth of the handles is thinner. And this cutlet in the video is clearly not for my hands. Not even for the hands of the author himself... Judging by the way he reaches for the buttons. But the idea is interesting.

    Astounding work to be fair. Still probably harder to manipulate and less precise than a Mouse, given the mouse can be operated with the entirety of your forearm, hand and fingers, all of which can make uninterrupted inputs whilst simultaneously aiming. Have to admit this thing would probably be a good option for console players at least.
